Bordeaux’s best buy at R385: Les Tours de Laroque

'I have just had the pleasure of wallowing in the best Bordeaux vintage I will probably ever taste: 2016.'
– Jancis Robinson

Dear *|FNAME|*,

Château Laroque’s grand vin has been the object of much praise, and their second wine, Les Tours de Laroque, is an instant office favourite. At only R385 per bottle, this is one of the best second wines in all of Bordeaux – it belongs on your festive table and in your cellar. From the phenomenal 2016 vintage, Les Tours de Laroque has everything we love about Bordeaux Right Bank wines. Ripe cherry and perfumed red fruits dominate the bouquet, and the palate is marked by a bead of acidity that gives tremendous length to the fine, chalky tannins.

Since David Suire’s arrival in 2015, Château Laroque has become one of Saint-Émilion’s most talked about estates, with Vinous founder Antonio Galloni claiming it ‘may well be the single most-improved wine in Saint-Emilion over the last few years’.

Les Tours de Laroque

2016 is undoubtedly among the greatest Bordeaux vintages of the 21st century, standing tall alongside the likes of 2000, 2005, 2009 and 2010. Wines across the price spectrum possess purity of fruit, electric energy and fine tannins. Les Tours de Laroque 2016 represents outstanding value from this vintage, offering years of drinking pleasure ahead.

Laroque’s incredible rise has been well documented during our en-primeur campaigns, and we couldn’t be more excited to follow the property’s continued upward trajectory!
