‘Disgorged in July 2022 and based on the 2019 vintage, the NV Extra-Brut Terre de Meunier offers up inviting aromas of pear, dried flowers, clear honey, freshly baked bread and smoky reduction, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy palate with a deep core of fruit, a pillowy mousse and a long, saline finish. | Producer information | Founded in the 1930s, Dehours & Fils is run by the third generation vigneron, Jérôme Dehours. They farm 42 parcels over 14.5 ha split between the villages of Mareuil-la-Port (Montagne de Reims); and Oeuilly, Cerseuil and Troissy (Vallée de la Marne). This area, Vallée de Flagot, named for the small river flowing through the valley to meet the Marne River, has a cool climate. It is perfect for growing Pinot Meunier, the corner stone of Dehours Champagne. As for the style at Dehours, the wines are respectful of the rich and bold flavours of the Pinot Meunier with a vibrant energy the result of a low dosage from brut to extra brut cuvées. |
