‘The G.D. Vajra 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo has so much bright freshness and primary intensity. This is a lovely entry-level wine and one that I warmly recommend to lovers of Nebbiolo who are also conscious of price. The wine sings from the glass with violet, sour cherry, raspberry, bitter almond and rose hip. There is a very ruby-colored, almost grenadine-like quality as well. | Producer information | GD Vajra estate is named after Giuseppe Domenico Vajra who founded the estate in 1972. Located in the highest village of Barolo, the vineyards are run by Giuseppe's son Aldo and his family. The vineyards sit at high altitudes of up to 400 metres, this creates thermal changes which ripen the fruit slowly and allow the concentration of noble and delicate aromas. GD Vjara have been pioneers of organic farming since 1971. |
