‘The G.D. Vajra 2022 Barbera d'Alba is a nicely concentrated effort with dark cherry fruit, blackberry and cinnamon-like sensations from the grape skins. With that extra density comes extra fruit weight and a powerful 15% alcohol content. | Producer information | GD Vajra estate is named after Giuseppe Domenico Vajra who founded the estate in 1972. Located in the highest village of Barolo, the vineyards are run by Giuseppe's son Aldo and his family. The vineyards sit at high altitudes of up to 400 metres, this creates thermal changes which ripen the fruit slowly and allow the concentration of noble and delicate aromas. GD Vjara have been pioneers of organic farming since 1971. |
