‘Tasted from foudre, the 2020 Bandol Cuvee Classique had been blended the week before my visit. Already showing classic notes of tree bark and truffle layered against cherries and raspberries and a touch of olive, it looks relatively precocious. | Producer information | Located in the heart of the Bandol terroir, Domaine Tempier was established during the reign of Louis XV (1715-74). The house was built in 1834 and the estate gained recognition in 1885 after winning its first gold medal. Domaine Tempier has been run by the Peyraud family since 1936 and their 38-hectares of land is spread over several parcels planted on steep, sun-drenched slopes that face the sea. |
