'Paul Jordaan sources the grapes for this Swartland Chenin Blanc from a 1980 bush vine parcel on decomposed granite, not far from his day job at the Sadie Family Wines' cellar. Floral and waxy, with sage and fynbos aromas, subtle wood, quince and apple fruit and chiselled, stony precision. 2023-28' – Tim Atkin, MW, South African Special Report 2022, 91/100

'The recently bottled 2021, has a slow-to-unfold nose of dried pineapple, preserved lemon, and waxy lanolin complexity. There is lots of intensity on the palate though, with a pointed and driving saline acidity striking the top note. This leads to a savoury and citrus edged energy carrying through to a long and concentrated finish. It will need a few months to settle for all its characters to shine. This is a wine of definitive Swartland concentration, power, and grip.'– James Pietersen, April 2022

`On the nose, we pick up a variety of stone fruits like pear and apricot accompanied by some hints of cantaloup, quince and honeycomb. There is a certain flintiness/saltiness to the wine which runs from the nose straight through to the pallet and just pulls everything nicely together. The slightest hint of reduction almost emphasises and elevates that freshness.' – Winemaker
