Joseph Drouhin Mâcon-Bussières Les Clos 2022 – R 375
‘The colour is limpid and bright. The wine develops mineral notes with hints of white flowers. Precise on the palate and long aftertaste. It shows an amazing purety.’ – Winemaker
Tesselaarsdal Chardonnay 2023 – R 395
'More mineral and focused than the opulent Chardonnay he makes for Hamilton Russell Vineyards, Emul Ross's Tesselaarsdal white reflects the vision of owner Berene Sauls. Fermented and aged in clay amphoras and older wood, it has notes of petrichor and gunflint, nice minerality and layers of pear and citrus fruit. 2024-29' – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2024, 93/100
Trizanne Signature Wines Benede-Duivenshokrivier Chardonnay 2023 – R 445
‘Grapes harvested three weeks earlier than usual and the wine did not go through malolactic fermentation. Matured for 10 months in barrel, 20% new. A top note of orchard blossom before pear and lime, fresh nuts and a brush of vanilla. The palate is light-bodied but not attenuated (alcohol is 12.7% and RS is 4g/l) – well-delineated fruit, fresh acidity and a pithy finish.’ – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 94/100
Joseph Drouhin Chablis Vaudon 2022 – R 495
‘A dry and fruity wine, easy to drink. Its colour is pale gold with greenish hues. Very fresh aromas reminiscent of citrus (lemon or grapefruit); small pleasant touches of fern or coriander are found as well. On the palate, dry and fruity, with mineral notes. Pleasant and long aftertaste.’ – Winemaker
Olivier Leflaive Bourgogne Les Sétilles 2021 – R 600
‘An equally fresh if less spicy nose freely offers up its aromas of apple, pear, white flower and a touch of orange peel. The mouthfeel of the medium weight flavors is also quite lovely while the lingering, balanced and equally dry finale is sufficiently tightly wound to repay a few years of keeping. This too is very good for its level. 2025+’ – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 87/100
Restless River Chardonnay 2023 – R 335
‘The basic Restless River Chardonnay uses younger vine material and around 20% of the 26-year-old Ava Marie vineyard. It's a very smart white from Craig Wessels, overcoming the challenges of a tricky vintage. Barrel fermented in 10% new oak with 50% malolactic, it's a refined, tangy, elegant red with citrus, wet stone and rice pudding notes and a lingering finish. 2024-30’ – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2024, 94/100
