Tasting notes
Trimbach Riesling 2021
'The fruit for this estate 2021 Riesling is from numerous villages with limestone, sandy and granitic soils. It is blended every year for consistency - which here means purity and precision. A lovely tangerine hint characterizes the nose with tart citrus intensity; a touch of smoky reduction is still at play. The palate, likewise, is a picture of tart, juicy, mouth-watering citrus. It’s straight, focused, slender, yet alive. Riesling lovers will rejoice at this taut and refreshing cuvée.' – Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous, 91/100
Clemens Busch Riesling Vom Roten Schiefer 2022
'Very fine spiced notes on the nose underlie juicy peach, kumquats and honey. Salty, dense and very long on the palate, with a lean structure and plenty of finesse leading to the long finish. There's some fine phenolics on show, but still closed - a lot of ageing potential contained within.' – Ulrich Sautter, falstaff, 92/100
Willi Schaefer Graacher Riesling Feinherb 2022
'The freshness of spring and the fruits of fall. Astonishing finesse and slatey intensity for a village wine. Sleek and silky on the barely medium-bodied palate. Super-long and graceful finish that takes your breath away. Drink or hold. Screw cap.' – Stuart Pigott, JamesSuckling.com, 95/100
