Dear *|FNAME|*,
Master of Wine Tim Atkin has just released his highly-anticipated South Africa 2022 Report, which features 195 wines that were rated 95+ points and above! 'This is a remarkably diverse line-up and includes several new producers. Few, if any, New World countries could better it,' concludes Tim. This annual report, now in its 10th edition, is the most comprehensive commentary on and list of SA’s top-scoring fine wines.
Sadie Columella 2020 is Tim’s Red Wine of the Year. The title of White Wine of the Year goes to Boekenhoutskloof Semillon 2020, while Rall’s Noa Chenin Blanc 2021 joins the podium as his White Wine Discovery of the Year.
At last night’s awards of Tim's 95+ point wines, Duncan Savage was named Winemaker of the Year and Charla Bosman of Sijnn was named Young Winemaker of the Year. It was an event brimming with excitement and a room full of amazing wines. With many sold out and only limited stock of others, please see our list of the available highly rated wines here. For future releases of the likes of Miles Mossop’s Sam, Boekenhoutskloof 2020s, Storm 2021s and many more, email allocations@winecellar.co.za.
This year, Tim Atkin tasted a record 2,282 SA wines from 433 wineries. His annual report continues to highlight the very best that our country has to offer. Tim has been instrumental in bringing South African wines to the world stage and he was the first critic to award a local wine – the 2015 Kanonkop Paul Sauer – 100 points.
