Milles Mossop's stunning terroir-specific series: Chapters

Dear *|FNAME|*,

Produced in limited quantities, this small allocation of Miles Mossop 2021 Chapters is the fourth tranche of Miles' terroir-specific series. All four bottlings show great fruit purity and are acutely defined by 'place', exhibiting his talent for coaxing subtle detail from exceptional vineyards.

Previously Chairman of the Cape Winemakers Guild and Tokara winemaker for 18 years, Miles has become one of SA's most accomplished winemakers. His solo journey is now well established with this outstanding set of wines. The focus shows! We have less than 60 bottles of each available and – at just R295 – they continue to offer superb value.

The 2021 Chapter One is light-bodied and 100% Cinsault, with 60% whole-bunch and concrete egg fermentation contributing to what is an exciting, energetic wine of verve and spicy freshness.

The 2021 Chapter Two is pure Swartland Chenin from 50-year-old Paardeberg vineyards. It's elegant, with florals and shy fruit leading to a savoury palate. Precise and on point in 2021.

From Bottelary in Stellenbosch, the 2021 Chapter Three is straight Chenin Blanc from a 34-year-old vineyard. Exuding attractive stone fruit, it's more open and inviting than its sibling above, with hints of hay and spice. There's a pithy end to the palate and a refreshing, grippy bite. Pure, rich, and mineral.

The 2021 Chapter Four is a serious, Bordeaux-like 100% Sauvignon Blanc that continues where the 2020 left of. It has amazing aromatics of white fruit, granadilla and buchu fynbos. From a 33-year-old Stellenbosch vineyard, Chapter Four is one for the long-haul, with a focused, acid backbone.

Tasting notes

Miles Mossop, Chapter One 2021

Miles Mossop, Chapter Two 2021

'The palate is elegant and balanced, with flavours mirroring the nose. The mid-palate, which has a creamy richness to it, leads to lingering saltiness and dry freshness.' – Miles Mossop Wines

Miles Mossop, Chapter Three 2021

'The wine enters the palate with zesty grapefruit, white peach, lemon and quince flavours. This all leads to a textured mid-palate with flavours of peach, toasted almonds and creamy notes. Finishing with power and pithy notes, leading to a dry finish.' – Miles Mossop Wines

Miles Mossop, Chapter Four 2021
