‘14% alcohol. From Place of the Gods Farm, a dryland vineyard 12 km from the sea and lies at 300 m. Granitic soils with quite a bit of clay, clones 115 and 667 planted in 2006. Juicy, bright and focused with lovely raspberry and red cherry fruit, as well as some iron and blood notes. Really intense with fine red fruits and good acidity and structure. Very expressive with fine red fruits and good acidity and structure. Lovely elegance here, allied to structure, with a sour cherry finish. Quite Barolo like, in a good way.’ – Jamie Goode, Wineanorak.com, 96/100

‘One of a pair of very impressive Pinot Noirs from Jessica Saurwein, this is the more structured of the pair, using grapes from granite and deep clay soils on the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge. Savoury, spicy and intense, it has plenty of zip and focus, pomegranate, clove and redcurrant flavours and svelte tannins. 2024-30’ – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2023, 94/100

‘Grapes from Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge. 10% whole-bunch fermentation before maturation lasting 10 months in 228-litre barrels, 25% new. Top notes of rose and herbs before cranberry, red cherry and white pepper. The palate is clean and fresh with fine tannins – pure and direct, this shows admirable refinement. Alc: 13.5%.’ – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 93/100

'Red berries, fresh hibiscus, fruit-coated, velvety tannin, crisp acidity, medium-bodied. I love this wine, as it has depth and intensity beyond the initial fruit and is poised and oh so age-worthy too! Drink: 2023 – 2038' – Winemaker
