Saurwein Chi Riesling 2024
‘For the first time, 40% of grapes were sourced from Hemel-en-Aarde Valley in addition to 60% from Elgin as has been the case in the past. Hints of jasmine, pear, lime and green apple on the nose. Good fruit concentration, driving acidity and a pithy finish. Lovely balance and vibrancy without being too insubstantial – alcohol is 11% and RS is 11.5g/l.’ – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 93/100
Marengo Dolcetto d'Alba 2022
‘Ruby red. Fruity with an aftertaste of almonds.’ – Winemaker
Trimbach Pinot Blanc 2022
‘The 2022 Pinot Blanc is a blend of 70% Auxerrois and 30% Pinot Blanc and is made from both estate and bought fruit, including from 70+-year-old Pinot Blanc from the grand cru Altenberg de Bergheim that helps express freshness. The nose is bright and alive with juicy, freshly cut green pear. The palate is crunchy but full of fruit in a slender package, with just a touch of pepper on the finish. (Bone-Dry) 2024-2034’ – Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous, 88/100
Clemens Busch Riesling Trocken 2022
‘The 2022 Riesling trocken is harvested on either side of the Mosel: the village-side sites plus the pre-harvest from the Marienburg side. The rather shy nose has lovely pear and lemon notes. The lithe palate is more forthcoming with fruit, showing tender pear, lemon, and slight white pepper. A dry, very lemon-pronounced finish. (Dry) 2023-2035’ – Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous
Wildeberg The Tea Leaf 2022
‘Almost ridiculously cheap for an Old Vine Project white, this is a well-framed, naturally fermented assemblage of Chenin Blanc with 20% Grenache Gris and Marsanne. Citrus and yellow apple flavours are embellished by some skin tannin bitterness and notes of aniseed and wet stones. 2023-27’ – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2023, 90/100
