Wine Cellar Weekly: Festive magnum rosé, Champagne, 5-star Chenin, value wines & more

In our final mailer of the year, we've selected a range of wines to meet all your needs. We have the rare Taittinger Comtes de Champagne, Waterkloof's Cape Coral Rosé in magnum for all the festivities and the award-winning Kleine Zalze Family Reserve Chenin. Hartenberg's versatile Tenacity Riesling is perfect with an array of festive dishes and Adi Badenhorst's single-vineyard Pinot is a delightful summer red. Plus, the sub-R150 Laing Sémillon offers incredible value.

We'd like to thank you all for your support during the year and wish you a happy festive season and New Year! We look forward to sharing more incredible wines with you in 2022.

Kleine Zalze, Family Reserve Chenin Blanc 2020
R 240 per bottle

The Kleine Zalze Family Reserve Chenin Blanc 2020 was awarded Gold in the 2021 Global Fine Wine Challenge and is a recent Platter's 5-star winner. 'A wine that rarely disappoints,' wrote Tim Atkin MW on the 2019 vintage, this statement holds true for the 2020 vintage too. With white flowers, nectarine and melon, this lengthy, 'go-to' Chenin should feature on all white wine-lovers tables.

R 3,995 per bottle

'The 2007 Comtes de Champagne Rosé is a total knock-out... This is about as good as it gets,' writes Antonio Galloni of Vinous. His sentiments are shared by the likes of Decanter and Wine Advocate, all of which have high-praise and scores for this Champagne. The 2007 is a fully matured vintage comprised of 30% Chardonnay and 70% Pinot Noir. This harmonious rosé offers excellent ageing potential.
