Caroline Rilemma of Caroline’s Fine Wines has her own Baardskeedersbos vineyards in Elim. The wine was first produced in 2009 and the 2023 release is a 50/50 blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. This is her first completely hands-on experience making the wine and it clearly exhibits the region’s marginal, saline and windswept character. The Celestina White is best enjoyed at least three to four years from vintage; only 1,350 bottles were made.

Twenty vintages of Vin de Constance will go under the hammer, including the ‘bullet proof’ (Matthew Day) 1986 and 1987 vintages, as well as Grand Constance 1821 – arguably the rarest South African wine. Fortified highlights include very early vintages of Monis and KWV limited edition Ports, Niepoort and Sadie Cape Tawny, JP Bredell, Boplaas, and De Krans wines.
