The La Brune Chardonnay 2021 captures this with poise, stunning balance, cool florals, and well-integrated, charming oak. The La Brune Chardonnay is 50% destemmed, 50% whole-bunch pressed, spontaneously fermented, and raised in 228-litre 'untoasted' barrels' (30% new oak) for 12 months, allowing the terroir to shine through. The La Brune Pinot Noir is from a high-density single vineyard planted to five different clones; the soil is ferricrete with a bit of clay. The Pinot follows a very similar regime to the Chardonnay, with a touch more new oak. The timber is from the Pierre du Bourgogne forest and the barrels are custom-made for La Brune.
