‘The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village bursts with aromas of ripe berries, spices, grilled squab, dark chocolate and toasty new oak. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, broad and muscular, with chewy tannins cloaked in a ripe core of fruit. ‘This too is quite spicy with hints hoisin, sandalwood and exotic tea that add breadth to the markedly floral black pinot fruit nose. The succulent, round and seductively textured, indeed even opulent, flavors coat the mouth with dry extract while also buffering the firm, serious and lightly austere finale. ‘The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village has a mixture of red and black fruit on the nose, some whole-bunch addition adding a subtle pepperiness. The palate is medium-bodied with soft, pliant tannins that frame the red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit. It fans out nicely with a pinch of black pepper that draws out the finish.
