‘The 2023 Syrah Lone Wolf comes from the same ridge of west-facing vines in Karibib from which Sons of Sugarland and Damascene source their fruit, amongst others. It has a very perfumed and floral bouquet that is très Côte-Rôtie—a little meaty, with a hint of dried blood percolating through with time. The palate is medium-bodied and beautifully balanced with filigree tannins, white pepper and clove infusing the red fruit. All I am seeking is a little more sustain on the finish, otherwise this will do very nicely. 2025-2040’ – Neal Martin, Vinous, 92/100
