‘The 2022 Finca de Los Locos is slightly riper than the 2021, with 14% alcohol and a rounder mouthfeel. It matured in 3,500-liter oak vats for one year. It feels young and primary but surprisingly fresh and balanced, more so than the other 2022s. It has fine tannins and a balanced mouthfeel, powerful but with harmony. 9,500 bottles produced. | Producer information | ‘Artuke has seen one of the best progressions in Rioja in the last few years and is one of the finest young family wineries in the region’, wrote the Wine Advocate and according to Tim Atkin ‘Arturo de Miguel makes some of the greatest reds in Spain.’ Brothers Arturo and Kike de Miguel biodynamically farm 30 hectares of vines planted between 1920 and 2013. Their father and ancestors have been farming the land in the northern part of Rioja Alavesa for over a century. Their goal is to take their winery to the next level thus placing emphasis on the terroir, in order to create wines with remarkable purity. |
