‘The Waterford Antigo takes its name from the colour of the soils in which the specific Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard, that makes up majority of the blend, is planted. Waterford Estate is located on the Helderberg Mountain, which is renowned for producing the best red wines in South Africa, especially Cabernet Sauvignon. The red clay and rich soils of this vineyard bring softer and plush elegant fruit to the aromatics. They also create tannins which are richer softer and sweeter to what we are used to on Waterford Estate.’ – Winemaker

| Producer information | The Waterford Estate is located in Blaauwklippen Valley in Stellenbosch. Of their 120-hectares, only half is plated with vines to allow for the preservation of the natural fauna and flora found on the estate. Waterford is owned by the Ord Family with Kevin Arnold as the Cellar Master and Managing Director. Decades of experience at Delheim and Rust en Vrede led Kevin to the prime Waterford Estate on the slopes of the Helderberg, where after much research, he planted a basket of Mediterranean varieties. |
