Warwick Estate is a high-end South African winery in the Stellenbosch region of South Africa. It has a rich history dating back to 1771. In 2017, Warwick was acquired by Charles Marston and Kishore Bopardikar through Eileses Capital, their investment fund with ambitions to build on the significant Warwick foundation and to take the estate to a new level of worldwide recognition. This was followed by the acquisition of the neighbouring Uitkyk Wine Farm from Distell. This purchase effectively extended the Warwick footprint to over 700 hectares of prime Simonsberg, Stellenbosch terroir.

The Simonsberg Mountains are at the centre of the Cape Winelands, approximately 45km from Cape Town. These striking mountains rise nearly 1400 metres above sea level and offer a spectacular divergence of slopes and ascents.

For those who like your reds with a double helping of flavour and the softness of a velvet slipper. It has a rich an explosive core with soft, sweet, black currant fruit, that follows right through to the last sip, backed up with a savouriness that is enticing.

Tasting notes:
'As statuesque as 2014 (93 pts), 2015 hangs taut tannins from a beam of pure, sleek blackcurrant fruit, has bright acidity, violet & dried thyme accents.' – Platter's SA Wine Guide 2019, 94/100, (4.5*)

'Cabernet Franc is increasingly a focus at Warwick, and rightly so. This single vineyard expression, part of which goes to the Trilogy blend, is scented, leafy and textured with a hint of graphite and stylish oak integration. 2018-25.' – Tim Atkin SA Special Report 2018, 94/100

'A deep dark ruby and purple colour promises body and power on this wine. The aromas of fresh earth, minerals, black cherry and mocha certainly deliver all the traits of a wine that is dominated by clean, linear fruit and a hedonistic mouthful of soft juicy tannins. The flesh and weight of the wine make it voluptuous and abundant with a long, round and lush finish.' – Winemaker
