'Take the Empreinte and kick it up a notch, as the vines here are older (50 years versus 25), the yields lower (35 hectoliters per hectare versus 40) and the élevage longer (18 months in demi-muids versus 12). All the same elements are present in the 2019 Saint Joseph Madone but turned up in intensity. It remains a medium-bodied wine loaded with violets and purple raspberries, tannic but mouthwatering, with a long, vibrant finish.
