Valentin Leflaive, Cuvée Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs 750ml NVFrance, Champagne
During the prestigious evening of the 'Tour de France des Appellations', held in June 2015 at Domaine de Chevalier (Léognan), Olivier Leflaive from Burgundy and Erick de Sousa from Champagne revealed their new production. It was a meeting of minds that was bound to produce something extraordinary: a friendship between two hedonists, two men steeped in the art of wine making, two men with a profound attachment to their vineyards.
Between them they created: Champagne Valentin Leflaive. The Extra-brut Blanc de Blancs Valentin Leflaive is composed exclusively of Chardonnay from Côte des Blancs. Each cuvée is blessed with outstanding minerality and complexity thanks to the Burgundy barrels used during vinification and the meticulous attention of Erick de Souza.

There is equally good refinement to the intense, pure and lively flavors that are supported by a relatively fine and dense mousse that also shapes the quite dry but not austere finish that possesses outstanding depth. Chalky soil in the region of Côte des Blancs. A pressing time of 4 hours with 100% whole bunches and no fining.
In stainless-steel vats with 30% reserve wine matured in used Burgundy barrels. Matured for 10 months including 2 months to allow the wine to marry. Aged for 42 months on laths and disgorged on the 8th of February 2015. It has a dosage of 4,5 gr/litre.
