| Producer information | Domaine Vacheron, owned by two cousins, Jean-Laurent and Jean-Dominique Vacheron, is a biodynamic winery and is one of Sancerre’s elite properties. Owning some of the most coveted parcels in the appellation, the cousins produce both white and red Sancerre of amazing purity and definition. ‘In fact, the rich and powerful whites belong to the best Sancerres you can find’ – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. The property is farmed to 34 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and 11 hectares of Pinot Noir. No synthetic material is used in the vineyard, grapes are harvested by hand, and only compost is used as fertilizer. They take a Burgundian approach to winemaking, by vinifying according to parcels and blending according to vintage. |
