Extraordinarily complex aromatics of black currant, citrus, peach, kiwi fruit, floral perfume and fennel while the palate has dense fruit, snappy acidity, some pithy texture to the finish. ‘First produced in 2018, but made with Hermanuspietersfontein grapes since 2020, this is a world-class Sauvignon Blanc that tastes as good as it looks. Combining skin and barrel-fermented components, this is a white with grip, intensity and backbone, showing blackcurrant leaf and rock salt flavours and some black tea tannins. ‘Offering notes of citrus blossom, waxy melon and citrus skin, the 2022 Sondagskloof White expresses a seductive hint of orange oil. Light to medium-bodied, the palate displays citrus flavors with a touch of wild brush and Meyer lemon, followed by notes of green tea and a kiss of phenolic bitterness. The white wine glides to a food-friendly finish with persistent notions of citrus, lees and wet rock.
