'The Reserve’s quality comes from a rigorous selection of fully ripe grapes from the Ribeauvillé region. 5, 6 plots with marl-limestone soils, old vines of over 45 years on average, this elegant Riesling is dry, precise, with a marked acidity characteristic of coin de Ribeauvillé.' – Winemaker

‘Very youthful, unformed nose. I suspect this will be much more expressive in a year or two, although in time it did open out a bit in the glass to some Riesling steeliness. Real nerve and excitement on the palate. Still very youthful and tight but all the ingredients, plus enormous extract, are there.’ – Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16++/20

‘Luminous straw-green. Mint and melon on the deep, refined nose. Fresh and lively in the mouth, hints of celery and chamomile complicating ripe pomaceous orchard fruit flavors. The acidity is well integrated, and the long finish is focused and energetic. There’s a great deal more depth here than in Trimbach’s 2017 entry-level Riesling. This is an outstanding Alsace Riesling that is the equivalent of many Riesling Grand Cru wines made by other producers. 2019-2027’ – Ian D’Agata, Vinous, 92/100

Producer information One of the most exciting wine estates in the Alsace region is Domaine Trimbach. These natural assets provide the perfect conditions for an array of aromatic grape varieties. Trimbach wines acquired true international acclaim in 1898 when Frédéric Emile Trimbach received the highest distinction at the International Wine Fair in Brussels. Today, the estate exports more than 85% of its wines and they are much sought-after by connoisseurs around the world.
