This is one of the highly-rated wines on Tim Atkin MW's 2020 South Africa Special Report

Tasting notes:
'Always among the best white Bordeaux blends in the Cape, this is especially impressive in 2017, one of the best recent vintages in South Africa. Combining Sauvignon Blanc with 31% Semillon, it's herbal, complex and layered, with some smoky wood undertones and flavours of toast and pink grapefruit. 2020-25' – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2020, 95/100

'Only best blocks, sauvignon leads, 31% semillon. 2017 has great precision, fruit is variety-true, lime & minerality, but pared down to the essence of freshness. Oak in support, but the fruit is too intense to allow much effect.' – Platter's Guide, 4.5* (94/100)

'This is a blend of 69% Sauvignon blanc and 31% Sémillon. It was made from grapes grown on the highest slopes of Tokara’s Stellenbosch property. This wine displays a pale straw colour with striking brilliance that catches the light. The nose is complex exhibiting attractive notes of ripe passion fruit and pink grapefruit all intermingled with hints of lemon grass and freshly baked brioche. On the palate the wine enters full and rich reminiscent of the aromas on the nose. The wine has amazing clarity and depth with a zesty persistence.' – Winemaker
