Tim Atkin MW has just released his highly anticipated 2024 South Africa Special Report – the most comprehensive commentary on SA’s finest wines. His annual report, now in its 12th edition, features 217 wines that were rated 95 points and above, including one 100-pointer. ‘South Africa is making the best wines in its history,’ says Tim. ‘The strongest performers were again Chenin Blanc and Syrah, but there are dozens of different styles among my top wines.’
Porseleinberg Syrah 2022 and Sadie Columella 2022 have been named Joint Red Wines of the Year, with 99 points each. Alheit Vineyards 2023 Nautical Dawn is the White Wine of the Year, boasting a perfect 100-point rating, and Elmie Rosé 2023 is Overall Rosé of the Year. The title of Sparkling Wine of the Year goes to Graham Beck Cuvée Clive 2018, and Klein Constantia’s Vin de Constance 2021 is Tim’s Sweet Wine of the Year.
