In 1880, a 22-year-old Joseph Drouhin settled in Beaune and founded his eponymous wine company. Today, fourth generation Véronique Drouhin continues the family’s prestigious Burgundy legacy. With 73 hectares of biodynamically farmed vines in close to 90 different appellations, Drouhin offers a fascinating array of Burgundy terroirs.

The perfect introduction to White Burgundy
Drouhin Mâcon-Bussières Les Clos 2020
‘The 2020 vintage is certainly a success for the Mâconnais. Many of its finer wines offer much-needed alternatives for those priced out of the Côte d’Or.’ – Neal Martin
This is true of the 2020 Mâcon-Bussières Les Clos from one of Burgundy’s most well-known ambassadors – Joseph Drouhin. It’s one of Wine Cellar’s best-selling Burgundies and for good reason. Whilst only R320 a bottle, it tastes like a wine twice its price!
This inviting Chardonnay hails from the south of Burgundy, close to Pouilly-Fuissé. The village of Bussières sits on the beautiful Mont du Mâconnais. A chalky, floral, and nuanced wine, the palate is stony, salty and laced with dried thyme – it’s an amazing introduction to the greatest Chardonnay region in the world.
