'From a single Kasteelberg vineyard planted on schist in 1995 selected on account of it being particularly distinctive. Potent aromatics of dark berries, a hint of olive, lily, fynbos, earth and spice. The palate has lovely fruit definition – it’s intense but not weighty, lemon-like acidity providing freshness while the tannins are fine but not too fine. | Producer information | The Terracura, Smiley and Silwervis wines are made by winemaker Ryan Mostert at the Voor-Paardeberg farm. Ryan Mostert is a self-professed wine geek and arguably one of the most passionate vignerons brought forth from Southern African soils. His experimental approach has gained him a strong following of sommeliers and wine geeks from around the world. There are two wines under the Terracura label, a Syrah and a Chenin blanc which are not widely available. |
