Sydonios (see-donn-yoss) was founded in 2017 after identifying a need among Bordeaux châteaux for stemware that translates wines from the producer through the glass to the palate with precision. The more traditional, angular glass shapes tend to accentuate the harsher characteristics in wine, not serving the elegance and freshness well. Sydonios embarked on a process involving 100 scientists, winemakers, and designers to arrive at glasses that achieve this simple but difficult task.

At the heart of Sy’s various stemware lines is a focus on the structure of the wine, not the varietal or region. Sy’s success is evident when travelling through France’s finest wine regions, with 90% of the Cru Classé in Bordeaux using it (including First Growths), as well as Champagne and Burgundy’s greatest producers.
