Blend: 70% Chenin Blanc, 17% Viognier and 13% Roussanne

Tasting notes:
'The White 2018 is a blend of 70% Chenin Blanc, 17% Viognier and 13% Roussanne, matured for 10 months in French oak, 10% new. The nose shows stone fruit, dried herbs, earth and spice plus some yeasty complexity while the palate is rich and full with punchy acidity and a deeply savoury finish. It’s hugely expressive without being ingratiating or ostentatious.' – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 94/100

'Sijnn's amazing reds get most of the plaudits, but this white cuvée of mostly Chenin Blanc with 25% of Viognier and Roussanne is pretty special too. Sourced from schist, shale and round river stone soils – Sijnn is the Khoisan word for a riverbed - it's a rich, textured, dry farmed delight with thatch and stone fruit characters and thrilling freshness and minerality. Drink 2019-24.' – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2019, 93/100

'Individual & rather gorgeous, limpid gold 2018, from 70% chenin, has viognier & roussanne adding floral aromas & apricot notes. More savoury than fruity, richly full of flavour, with texture & a fine natural acidity. Unobtrusive 15% new oak supports 14% alcohol. Also in 1.5 & 3L.' – Platter's Guide, 4.5* (93/100)

Alc: 14.1% | TA: 6.1 g/L | PH: 3.26

About Sijnn:
David Trafford’s Sijnn project is based in Malgas along the Breede River. Forty kilometers away from any other vineyards, it's tremendously rocky soil and Breede River-influenced microclimate is unlike any other in South Africa. These unfiltered, unfined, real wines are made in tiny volumes and speak of Malgas’ amazing terroir.
