‘The 35th and most recent vintage of Salon since the house was founded in 1905 is memorable and magnificent. Made only from Chardonnay grown in the Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, it combines intense minerality, a crisp textured core and the beginnings of maturity. | Producer information | First made in 1905, with the house of Salon officially being founded in 1921. Eugène-Aimé Salon aimed to create a sparkling wine made up of only Chardonnay, in a time when champagne blends were dominated by heavy additions of Pinot Noir. Sourced from a single hectare plot: The Salon Garden, and 19 other smaller plots located in the grand cru certified Le Mesnil village, as selected by Eugène-Aimé Salon. Salon champagnes are only made in the best of years. |
