'Best of the top 3 Elgin pinots, all destemmed & wholeberry fermented to capture pure fruit, 10 months in oak, this 10% new, rest old wood. Riveting perfume, tangy black berry fruit, fresh acidity & fine-grained tannins lift 2018. Also in magnum.' – Platters Guide, 4.5* (94/100)

'Made with the Dijon clones 115 and a little 777, this low-intervention Pinot Noir is made without sulphur dioxide until bottling. With subtle clove spice from 15% whole bunches, it’s sappy, nuanced and stony, showing wild strawberry and bramble fruit and scented oak. Drink 2020-24.' – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2019, 94/100

'From Elgin fruit. Fermentation involving a combination of whole-berry and whole-bunch, maturation lasted 10 months in French oak, 10% new. A very enticing nose of with notes of musk, rose, herbs and red cherry plus the vaguest hint of earth. The palate is light bodied and super-elegant – pure fruit, zesty acidity and tannins that are fine yet grippy.' – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 92/100

'Mid ruby. A definite cool-climate and savoury initial impression with subtle, almost earthy red fruits and just a touch of spice but opens up to greater fruit sweetness and ripeness. The aroma suggests slightly longer bottle development than this has had. On the palate, again this tastes a little more mature than I expected for a 2018 but that makes it just ready to approach now. There's plenty of mature red fruits, cherry in particular, and lovely freshness. It does have the very beginning of tertiary, slightly leathery notes but there's bags of juicy fruit at the core and even a hint of something citrusy like orange. Extremely fine tannins that are currently smooth rather than silky but heading in that direction. Long, mouth-watering finish but not quite as elegant as the 2017.' – Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20
