‘Just mid ruby. Perfumed but shy nose with hints of stones. Supple, suave and elegant and with a full aromatic spread on the palate. Great polish and shine. Fantastic crunchy tannins. A real beauty. 2022-2030’ – Walter Speller, JancisRobinson.com, 18/20

‘The 2019 Chianti Classico (100% Sangiovese) is laced with the essence of red/purplish berry fruit, spice, cedar and floral notes. Readers will find a classic expression of both the vintage and the house style in this super-appealing mid-weight Classico. 2022-2034’ – Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 91/100

‘A ripe, polished version, whose cherry, currant, earth and wild herb flavors are wrapped up in a profile that gains density as it plays out on the palate. Best from 2023 through 2032.’ – Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, 89/100

‘Made with 100% organic Sangiovese, the 2019 Chianti Classico Querciabella offers elegant and measured ripeness that never pulls too far in any one direction. This is what makes the 2019 vintage so enjoyable and easy to pair with food. It offers tart cherry, cola and sweet earthy sensations. 2022-2026’ – Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, 89/100

Producer information The story of Querciabella began in 1974 when Giuseppe ‘Pepito’ Castiglioni purchased a single hectare of vineyards on a Tuscan hillside. He was an industrial entrepreneur by trade but his dreams and passions were in producing wine. In the mid-1990s Pepito’s son, Sebastiano Cossia Castiglioni, took over the vineyards and took Querciabella’s reputation to new heights. He saw to it that Querciabella was one of the first wineries in Italy to convert to organic viticulture and was a pioneer in his biodynamic approach. Sebastiano’s passion for animal rights also led to the vegan certification of Querciabella. Today Querciabella’s vineyards span more than 100 hectares, located in Chianti Classico and Maremma and are planted with all the grape varieties that Pepito only dreamed of when purchasing that first hectare of vineyards.
