Pieter Ferreira Blanc de Blancs 2015: Order now

Pieter 'Bubbles' Ferreira needs no introduction. As Graham Beck's cellarmaster, he is the undisputed maestro of Cap Classique. He launched his eponymous label in 2012 with his wife Ann Ferreira. On the 2013 release, Christian Eedes wrote: 'This is categorically the best bottle-fermented sparkling wine I've ever drunk from South Africa.' While high praise indeed, this Platter's 5-star 2015 is even better in our opinion.

The 2015 is elegant and sophisticated, offering an array of flavours from the classic, autolytic notes of almond and brioche, to muted hints of dried peach and white flowers, and further notes of exotic mango and ginger spice. The Platter's Guide (95 points) writes about its 'thrilling fruit purity' and 'vivacious spirit'. It is a world-class Cap Classique.

Brut in style, the 2015 Blanc de Blancs is made using Robertson Chardonnay (limestone soils) and aged on the lees for 6 years. It has a precise back bone of acidity and resolves wonderfully on the palate with great length and a layered finish.
