Robert Parker calls Château Pesquié one of his ‘all-time favourite producers in France‘ and ‘a phenomenal bargain’ and we agree. Since 2014, when we first imported the Pesquié wines, both the Paradou and Terrasses Rouge have been two of our top-selling wines. ‘The wines sell for a song, yet always deliver high-quality, loads of character and impeccably made profiles,’ says Jeb Dunnuck of The Wine Advocate

Acme of the single vineyard trilogy of Château Pesquié, with Artemia and Silica, Ascensio outlines the intensity and the purity of some Pesquié's best Grenaches. The Chaudière Family chose this name to celebrate the tradition of the ascent of the Mont Ventoux which goes back to the XIVth century and Petrarch. It also symbolises the magic of altitude terroirs. Ascensio is only produced in very small quantity (less than 3,000 bottles) and only on great vintages.

'One of the largest estates in the Ventoux, Château Pesquié is now completely organic, with the goal of being biodynamic in 2019. The Chaudière brothers, Alexandre and Frédéric, deserve great credit for building on their parents founding vision.' – The Wine Advocate

Tasting notes:
Deep purple in colour. Powerful nose with aromas of blackberry, plum, liquorice, kirsch and mineral notes. Large and full, intense and concentrated on the palate. This wine unfolds a great balance and an unexpected freshness, with flavours of raspberry, black pepper and black cherry.

About Château Pesquié:
Château Pesquié is a family estate located at the foot of the Ventoux Mountain, Southern Rhône, gathering three generations of winemakers. The history of Château Pesquié is the story of a family passionate about the Ventoux region. They recognised the outstanding potential of a region where vines had been cultivated for more than a thousand years.

Producer information Château Pesquié, situated northeast of Avignon within the Rhône Valley, is a place that, according to Wine Spectator, looks like it has produced fine wines for decades. The estate consists of 250 acres of organic vineyards spread over the foothills of Mont Ventoux. Its landmark is the wind-whipped, white limestone peak that watches over the estate. Robert Parker calls Château Pesquié one of his 'all-time favorite producers in France', and their reputation confirms this after receiving more than a dozen 90-plus-point scores for their wines. Their wines are described as fresh, fruit-driven and exuberant, and are the best examples of today's Ventoux AOC bottlings.
