About Maison Olivier Leflaive:
One of Burgundy’s most impressive names, Olivier Leflaive is recognised as much for the consistent quality and style of its wines as for the sheer breadth of its range. ‘Today, he is one of Burgundy’s top white wine producers and the maison wines match the domaine wines for their sheer quality, class and longevity!’ – Roland

The Leflaive family have been Burgundy producers for many decades but, in 1984, Olivier Leflaive set up his merchant house producing wines under his own label from his own vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet. To establish his estate, he purchased 12 hectares of land in prestigious appellations including village Meursault to the Grands Crus of Montrachet and Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet. Today, Olivier Leflaive controls all the winemaking and the ageing of the wines. Each vintage benefits from an individual approach and guarantees the authenticity of each appellation.

Tasting notes:
100% Chardonnay

'Like the Pernand, the nose is comprised of reduction and sulfur elements. The medium-bodied flavors are slightly riper and more concentrated as the abundant dry extract imparts a caressing mouth feel to the more complex finish that exhibits an interesting hint of sour-sweet character.' – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 90/100

'Notes of almond, cinnamon, spices, a fine and charming wine which evolves on fatness and richness with age. Ideal with oysters or a scallops carpaccio , trout cooked with almonds.' – Winemaker

Terroir:
This terroir protects from frost in the area of Montrachet. It is the historical terroir of Saint Aubin, ravaged by phylloxera then cultivated since the seventies. Limestone soil. In the night, grappes are still warmed by summer heat. Mineral character, like flint in a dynamic style.
Soil : Calcareous Clay

Alc: 13%
