‘A great emissary of White Burgundy’ – Jancis Robinson
Burgundy’s 2020 vintage is renowned for its incredibly bright, concentrated wines. 'How can a vintage so extreme produce wines that are so vibrant and fresh?’ asks William Kelley of the Wine Advocate. The newly arrived 2020 Les Sétilles from Olivier Leflaive is one such wine – elegant, packed full of flavour and 'remarkably steely for the vintage’, writes Jasper Morris MW.
The 45-year-old vines used for this top-notch, value wine are planted over 70 plots in two of the greatest white wine-producing communes in the world – Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault. Les Sétilles often outperforms more celebrated Chardonnays and should be a staple on the festive table this December. Also available in magnums!
For the first time ever, try Olivier Leflaive’s deliciously fruity and mineral-driven 2019 Aligoté, one of Burgundy’s oldest white grapes. Their limy 2019 and 2020 Chablis are also on offer, along with two Pinot Noirs – the 2017 Côte de Beaune and 2019 Cuvée Margot.
The Leflaive family has been rooted in Puligny Montrachet since 1717. Olivier was the co-manager of the family domaine, Leflaive, from 1982 – 1994. He started his own domaine, Olivier Leflaive Frères, in 1985 and officially parted ways with the family in 1995 to focus on his own business. Today, he's a leading white wine producer, with maison wines that match the domaine wines for their sheer quality, class and longevity.
