His 2018 white wines and 2019 Sétilles confirm this. The 2019 Les Sétilles Bourgogne Blanc is a showstopper for only R425. Zesty, intense and mineral, it is Puligny-esque. 2019 gave them the smallest crop they've seen in about 30 years, but with concentration, balance and terroir transparency.
We love Leflaive's policy of only releasing most of their wines after two years so that the wines have adequate time to recover and better harmonise. We're happy to offer his very fine Pulignys and Saint-Aubin 1er Cru from 2018. Winemaker Franck Grux described 2018 as 'one of those vintages that I have come to like more and more as the élevage has progressed.' 2018 had a wet spring, some frost, a warm summer and a very healthy and generous crop.
'The wines are hallmarks of elegance and purity rather than muscle and are more than worthy of the famous Leflaive name.' – Jasper Morris, author Inside Burgundy
Because of a stronger Rand, we are happy to offer the new releases at lower prices than the previous vintages – a Burgundy bargain.
