Tasting notes:
100% Grenache Blanc

'Made with grapes from a comparatively young vineyard, planted on quartz and shale soils in 2013, this is a superb wine from an increasingly recognised talent. Mealy, leesy and elegant, with fine, scented oak and incredible focus and palate length. A brilliant, terroir-driven white. Drink 2019-26.' – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2019, 95/100

'Vibrant 2018 ups the quality on 2017 (92 pts). Ripe stonefruit with lemon tang & savoury notes. As with others, complex winemaking: natural ferment, 5% skin & portion in 600L ‘egg’. Result is weighty yet lively, layered wine contained in subtle oak frame with lees breadth.' – Platter's Guide 2020 ed., 4.5* (94/100)

'A hint of reduction before citrus and peach plus a subtle herbal note on the nose while the palate shows pure fruit and bright acidity before a pithy finish. Good concentration and focus.' – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 91/100

Alc: 13.5%

About Olifantsberg Family Vineyards:
Olifantsberg is located in the Brandwacht Mountain Range overlooking the Breedekloof valley. This location experiences dramatic temperature differences within a day and the summer and winter climates help to ensure slow ripening of the grapes which in turn contribute to fresh and elegant wines. The winemaker, Elizma Visser, joined Olifantsberg in 2015 and is focused on following a natural, sustainable farming approach. Simple techniques are used in the winemaking, traditional oak casks and foudres are used, and where possible the grapes are naturally fermented which aids in a lower alcohol and sulphur content in the wines.
