| Producer information | Dirk Niepoort is a fifth generation winemaker and a pioneer of table wines in Portugal. His long-standing passion for Mosel wines and Riesling took him to Mosel where he met winemaker, Philip Kettern, of Lothar Kettern. These two men, together with Dirk's eldest son, Daniel, formed a collaboration which later became known as Fio Wines. Their vineyards lie in the western Mosel village of Piesport. With blue, Devonian slopes and a 30-70% south facing gradient, this amphitheatre is one of the Mosel's great terroirs. |
