'The 2020 Straw Wine has a typically gorgeous bouquet of dried honey, quince, tangerine and touches of candle wax, displaying the usual wonderful delineation and freshness. The palate is extremely well balanced with a killer line of acidity that cuts a swath through the rich honeyed fruit. Notes of tangerine, peach and mango appear toward the finish. Irresistible. '100% Chenin Blanc. Grapes picked at normal ripeness of 23˚ Brix and then left to dry for two to four weeks. Orange, dried apricot, a subtle note of hay and nougat on the nose while the palate sees super-concentrated fruit matched by driving acidity before a dry finish. Despite a residual sugar of 362g/l, this wine is clean, crisp and beautifully balanced. With lovely shape and structure, this is something rather special.
