Rita and Clemens Busch are the ‘absolute pioneers’ (Vinous) of organic and biodynamic viticulture in the Mosel. They’ve farmed their vines in Pünderich organically since 1985 and obtained biodynamic certification in 2007.
Most of Clemens Busch’s production comes from the famous Grosses Gewächs (similar to Grand Cru) vineyard, Pündericher Marienburg – 80% of which is planted to old vines. Their vineyards are based on three types of slate – red, blue and grey – each imparting different characteristics and styling. All these Rieslings have the typical Mosel lightness of being.
