Miles Mossop Wines Chapters Cinsault 2023 Bottle size: 750ml
South Africa, Swartland
R315
‘Sourced from a cool, east-facing site near Malmesbury - hence the comparatively low alcohol - Chapters is a subtle, graceful Cinsault that was fermented with 50% whole bunches. Concrete egg fermented and aged, it has crunchy pomegranate and red cherry fruit and a mineral core. Eminently drinkable. 2024-29’ - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2024, 93/100
‘Grapes from a Swartland vineyard in 1998. 50% whole-bunch fermentation before maturation lasting 10 months in concrete eggs. Pretty aromatics of strawberry and rose plus hints of fynbos and earth. The palate is light-bodied and energetic with snappy acidity and powdery tannins. Alcohol is 12% and this is moreish as only Cinsault can be.’ - Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 92/100
