This week saw the release of David & Nadia's latest wines, and a highlight was their signature white – the Aristargos 2021. While we can't emphasise the exceptional quality of these releases enough, they are super limited. Another of our top picks this week is the 'powerful yet poised' Cape Point Vineyards Isliedh 2020, which recently received 96 points from Christian Eedes. Moving to Rioja, we've selected a pair of superb Laventura reds made by former Young Gun Bryan MacRobert. Finally, in celebration of Women's Month, our August Insiders' Case features wines from talented women winemakers, including Lucinda Heyns, Kiara Scott, and Elizma Visser.

David & Nadia 2021 releases

The Cape Point Vineyards Isliedh 2020 has added yet another notch to its belt, scoring 96 points from Christian Eedes. Since its maiden release in 2003, it has received 11 Platter's 5-star ratings and 97 points from Tim Atkin, as well as being named as one of his White Bordeaux Blends of the Year in the 2021 report. Though made for ageing, it offers complexity and intrigue to those who wish to enjoy it while young.

From Young Gun Bryan MacRobert and planted in 1935 mostly to Tempranillo, Barranco del San Ginés is a vineyard and wine to watch! 'There are not many vineyards like this left in Rioja, and MacRobert is doing a superb job here getting the vineyard back to life. The wine is also beautiful, even more so in the great 2016 vintage,' writes Wine Advocate, scoring it 95 points. Lovers of Rioja, this one is for you.

From Pio Cesare in Piedmont, now headed by Pio's daughter, Federica, we have a fresh and floral Moscato d'Asti.
