Swerwer produces some of the best whites in the Swartland according to Tim Atkin MW but, when it comes to the new 2020 releases, winemaker Jasper Wickens is especially excited about his reds. He says the varieties in his Swartland Red Blend are 'better married', with 'better structure, tighter tannins and dark, earthy flavours'. For the Swartland enthusiasts and those who enjoy a touch of debate around the dinner table.

Perfect score: Spot the 100-pointers

We kicked off our 2021 tasting schedule with our Spot the 100-pointer event hosted in CPT and JHB. The highly sought-after, 100-point Porseleinberg 2018 and Sadie Family Skurfberg 2019 went up against highly-rated, local and international wines. Misjudged as the 100-pointers, the Cavalli Filly Chenin Blanc 2020 punched above its weight at only R 125 per bottle. Tasted alongside the likes of Cos d'Estournel earlier this year, the Glenelly Lady May 2015 showed its pedigree as one of the finest SA Bordeaux reds.
