Wine Cellar Weekly: New Scions of Sinai releases, low-sulphur wines, rare Sélections Parcellaires & more

This week's mailer is packed with the hottest releases we don't want you to miss out on. The exciting, new Scions of Sinai wines are out, we have some intriguing, low-sulphur offerings from Deep Rooted Wines and the excellent La Brune Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. We've received vintage Tria Corda stock from the historic Overgaauw property, spanning three decades (1980-2006). And lastly, we're thrilled to offer Chapoutier's rare, single-vineyard 2018s and a new shipment of Proseccos.

La Brune, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir 2020
From R 295 per bottle

Nico Grobler's new 2020 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir have received high praise from Tim Atkin MW – sentiments which we agree with. The Pinot Noir 'looks set to join the ranks of South Africa's top Pinot Noirs over the next few vintages,' writes Tim. Layered with berry fruit, this is an elegant, pure Pinot. As for the Chardonnay, Nico describes it as the 'Chanel No. 5 of Chardonnays.' It's refined and mineral with a racy acidity.

Scions of Sinai, Atlantikas and Nomadis 2021
From R 175 per bottle

The new Scions of Sinai Atlantikas and Nomadis 2021 are some of Bernhard Bredell's most transparent wines to date. The Atlantikas is an exuberant Pinotage from bush-vine vineyards in the Lower Helderberg. Notes of bright, red fruits, violets and potpourri are followed by refined tannins and a long finish. Nomadis is a blend of 87% old-vine Cinsault and 13% old-vine Pinotage. It shows notes of black cherry and plums intertwined with fresh flowers and is an elegant representation of the varieties.
