Pesquié Le Paradou Grenache 2018 Bottle size: 750ml

Since 2014, when we first imported the Pesquié wines, both the Paradou and Terrasses Rouge have been two of our top-selling wines.
The word 'Paradou' means watermills in the old Provençal language and so the name for the wine, 'Le Paradou', comes from the guest house of Château Pesquié which was once a former watermill.

Tasting notes:
'More fruit-forward than the 2017, the 2018 Vin de France Le Paradou Grenache combines notes of strawberries, raspberries and cherries on the nose, then backs that up with lots of silky-textured red-berry notes on the medium to full-bodied palate. It should drink well through 2023.' – Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, 88/100

'Limpid and dark ruby color. Nose of black and red berries with spicy notes. In the mouth, good concentration, roundness and freshness in the same time. Crunchiness of the grapes, cherry and blackcurrant aromas with hints of pepper. Very easy to drink!' – Winemaker

Producer information Château Pesquié, situated northeast of Avignon within the Rhône Valley, is a place that, according to Wine Spectator, looks like it has produced fine wines for decades. The estate consists of 250 acres of organic vineyards spread over the foothills of Mont Ventoux. Its landmark is the wind-whipped, white limestone peak that watches over the estate. Robert Parker calls Château Pesquié one of his 'all-time favorite producers in France', and their reputation confirms this after receiving more than a dozen 90-plus-point scores for their wines. Their wines are described as fresh, fruit-driven and exuberant, and are the best examples of today's Ventoux AOC bottlings.
