La Brune Chardonnay is sourced from two Elgin vineyards planted to clones 277 and 95. The grapes are 50% destemmed and 50% whole-bunch pressed, allowing natural fermentation. The wine is raised for 12 months in 228-litre 'untoasted' barrels, with 25% new oak and the rest second and third fill.
La Brune Pinot Noir 2022 is from a 10,000 vine/ha high-density single vineyard planted to five different clones, and the soil is ferricrete with a bit of clay. This vintage is 50% PN115, 35% PN113, and 15% PN459. A portion is whole-bunch fermented, followed by spontaneous fermentation in small open fermenters. The wine spends 12 months in 228-litre 'untoasted' barrels (a portion new and the rest second and third fill). As with the Chardonnay, the oak is from the Pierre du Bourgogne forest and the barrels are custom-made for La Brune.
