'Immediately expressive, beguiling 2018 already showing spicy-floral citrus complexity. Notably refined & fresh, with the same softness of texture & finely penetrating acidity as 2017 (4.5 stars, 94 pts). 44% new oak; 13% alcohol a little lower than others.' – Platter's Guide, 5* (95/100)

'The 2018 Chardonnay Kershaw GPS Lower Duivenhoks River, matured in French oak (43.6% new... exactly!) has a finely tuned bouquet of yellow plum, almond, chamomile and light apricot blossom scents, the oak nicely integrated. The palate is very well balanced, displaying fine acidity and poise. This is almost disarmingly harmonious. Fleeting touches of quince and orange zest are revealed toward the finish. Warning: You will definitely finish a bottle, even if you didn’t plan to. Drink 2022 - 2035.' – Neal Martin, Vinous, 93/100 (Apr 2021)

'Planted in 2010, this single vineyard site lies around three and a half hours' drive to the east of Elgin on mixed soils that contain some precious limestone deposits. Rich, exotic and supple, with apricot and nectarine flavours framed by 40% new wood. Best drunk young. Drink 2019-22.' – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2019, 90/100

'Restraint, minerality, freshness of fruit and a chiselled edge reflect limestone’s soil properties. This 2018 reveals clean, bright aromas of lemon blossom, wet chalk and powdered stones. Penetrating intensity, animated acidity with a rich mid-palate weight; this wine has purity of fruit – orange peel, yellow cling peaches and grapefruit peel – with complexing oatmeal and lemon cream biscuits to crème fraiche textures and a long finish.' – Richard Kershaw, Winemaker
